District judges in Lycoming County kept busy handling several drug cases

Mary E. Eiswerth, 38, of Lock Haven, has been charged with possession with intent to deliver a controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia after state troopers, executing a search warrant at a camper on Carpenter Lane in Woodward Township, found her there trying to conceal a bag with “a distributive” amount of methamphetamine on Sept. 12. It turned out there already was a warrant for her arrest at the time filed by Lycoming Regional police, charging her with felony shoplifting at the Jiffy Market and Deli in Jersey Shore on May 30. She was immediately turned over to Lycoming Regional police, who took her to be arraigned on their charge. She was jailed for about a month and then released on $50,000 bail. She has since waived her preliminary hearing in this case. She was arraigned just last week before District Judge Denise Dieter on the state police drug charges plus an additional felony offense of contraband for having in her possession a bag of methamphetamine when she was incarcerated back in September. She remains jailed on the new charges in lieu of $25,000 bail. In addition to these cases, Eiswerth has also waived her preliminary hearing on yet another set of drug offenses that were filed by Lycoming Regional police. She will face further court action on charges of possession of methamphetamine, possession of drug paraphernalia and false identity to law enforcement that all stem from an incident in the 100 block of Old Route 220 in Piatt Township on Nov. 9. Bail in this case was also $25,000.

In another case, detectives with the county’s Narcotics Enforcement Unit (NEU) charged Noah Daniels, 29, with possession with intent to deliver a controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia after they discovered and seized 85 grams of marijuana from a backpack at his city home at 640 Second Ave. while executing a search warrant there on Oct. 25, according to court records. Daniels admitted he was selling the marijuana out of his home, investigators said. Following his recent arraignment before District Judge Aaron Biichle, Daniels, who has since waived his preliminary hearing, was released on $15,000 bail.

In another NEU case, a bench warrant was expected to be filed for the arrest of Jennifer Moser, 42, Danville, after she failed to appear for her preliminary hearing before District Judge Kirsten Gardner on two counts of possession of a controlled substance that stem from an incident on the afternoon of Nov. 6 when she was found to have on her methamphetamine and cocaine in the 100 block of South Main Street in Montgomery, it was alleged in court documents.

In another case, when accused drug dealer Jeremiah Crum was being incarcerated on Dec. 16 at the county prison on state police felony narcotics charges, it turned out that he had drug paraphernalia items hidden in his private area that were discharged while he was being searched by corrections officers, investigators alleged. Charged with one felony count of contraband, Crum, 37, of 1548 High St., still an inmate at the prison, was recommitted in lieu of an additional $25,000 bail.

In another case, Michael Emmett Carey, 67, of 150 Big Pig Lane, Jersey Shore, has been charged by Lycoming Regional police with possession of a controlled substance (methamphetamine) and possession of drug paraphernalia following an incident in the 1100 block of Allegheny Street in Jersey Shore on Oct. 15. He has waived his preliminary hearing before Dieter and is free on $15,000 bail.

In another case, Jerold Ross Jr., 34, of 307 Black Horse Alley, Salladasburg, has been charged with possession of a small amount of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia after a state trooper spotted a jar filled with the controlled substance in the attic of Ross’ garage on Nov. 3, according to an affidavit. Ross has waived his preliminary hearing and is free on $10,000 bail.
