Hospital patient’s alleged assault of police officers results in charges

While being treated in the emergency room at UPMC Williamsport on Jan. 18, Elizabeth Zion Torok first spit in the face of a security officer, telling him, “Have fun with that,” and then hours later “physically lunged” at another officer’s arm, “digging her fingernails into the arm and drawing blood in two places as she attempted to bite his hand,” it was alleged in affidavit filed by hospital police.

Torok, 38, of 24 Strouse Road, Montgomery, claimed to medical staff that she was “infected with a communicable disease,” it was stated in the court document.

Following her arraignment Monday before District Judge Denise Dieter on charges of aggravated assault, disorderly conduct and harassment, Torok was released on $15,000 bail.

Starting at $2.99/week.
