Additional charges filed against man accused of 9/11 Ride Coalition theft

Already awaiting trial for felony theft charges filed last year after allegedly swindling the Lycoming County 9/11 Memorial Coalition out of $7,000 in T-shirts and decals, Michael Allen Ritter has been charged with another set of offenses for cheating another entity out of money, according to court papers at the office of District Judge Kirsten Gardner. In the latest criminal complaint, state police have charged Ritter, 37, of 26 E. Village Drive, Nisbet, with theft, theft by deception and deceptive business practices for failing to honor a contract last summer in which he was to deliver 89 9-11 T-shirts to the Clinton Township Volunteer Fire Co. for $1,314. Although he received the money up front, Ritter never provided the shirts, police alleged. He waived his preliminary hearing last week on the newest set of charges and is free on $5,000 bail.

Starting at $2.99/week.
