The Lycoming College women’s lacrosse team is slated eighth in the Landmark Conference Coaches’ Preseason Poll, the conference office announced on Tuesday.
Defending conference champions Scranton topped the poll with 80 points and eight-first place votes. Catholic (74), which had the other two first-place votes, Susquehanna (63), Moravian (56), Juniata (52) and Drew (41) round out the top six. Elizabethtown (31), Lycoming (26), Goucher (18) and Wilkes (9) complete the ranking.
The Warriors return 12 letterwinners from a team that went 6-10 overall and 2-7 in the Landmark Conference. The team will be paced by the dynamic duo of sophomore Riley Block, the 2023 MAC Freedom Rookie of the Year, and junior Katie Maguire, the 2022 MAC Freedom Rookie of the year. Block notched 67 goals and 83 points last year and Maguire added 52 goals and 58 points, as both have entrenched themselves in the top 15 in the school’s career history in both categories. Senior Alexa Baldwin has also moved into the top three in school history in career assists after setting a school-record with 53 assists in 2024.
The Warriors open the season on Wednesday, Feb. 19, when they visit Lebanon Valley for a 4 p.m. match.
