Jersey Shore man dies after crash believed to be caused by medical issue

Investigators believe the 69-year-old Jersey Shore man driving this Subaru Forester was stricken moments before he crashed into a retaining wall at High and Thomas streets in the borough about 11:30 a.m. Friday. After he was extricated from the car, he was rushed to nearby Geisinger Jersey Shore Hospital, where he was pronounced dead despite efforts to revive him, police said. His identity was expected to be released later this weekend. Heading east on High Street, the driver crossed Thomas Street, slammed into the retaining wall and then drifted back down an incline close to 300 feet, again crossing Thomas Street, before coming to a stop along the curb, police said.

Starting at $2.99/week.
