January students of the month named at Jersey Shore

Jersey Shore Senior High School has announced Hannah Elizabeth Heaton as the January Lions Club Student of the Month and Anna Sick as the Business and Professional Women’s January Student of the Month.

The daughter of Matt and Christina Heaton of Jersey Shore, Hannah has been an active leader in academics, athletics and community service throughout her high school career.

She has been a four-year member of the basketball and golf teams, earning district championships in golf for two years and lettering in the sport. She also played a key role in the Outdoor Club, serving as president in both her junior and senior years.

Beyond athletics, Hannah has demonstrated strong leadership in various extracurricular activities. She has been a dedicated member of the National Honor Society and National Art Honor Society since her junior year and joined FBLA in her senior year, where she serves as the Social Media Officer.

Her commitment to service is evident through her involvement in her church’s youth group, volunteering at Walnut Street Christian School, and participating in numerous church events.

Additionally, she is an active member of the Youth Hunter Education Challenge (YHEC), reflecting her passion for the outdoors.

In her free time, Hannah enjoys hunting, fishing, camping, kayaking and attending sporting events with friends.

She plans to attend a four-year college to major in environmental science, with aspirations of a career in the game commission, DCNR or forestry.

The daughter of Charisse and David Sick of Linden, Anna has been a dedicated student-athlete and leader throughout her high school career.

She has participated in cross country for three years, serving as team captain in her junior year, and has been a four-year member of both the track and indoor track teams. In her senior year, she joined the soccer team, further demonstrating her versatility as an athlete. Her outstanding athletic accomplishments include setting the school record in the 400-meter dash.

Beyond athletics, Anna has been deeply involved in student leadership and academics. She has served as class vice president since her freshman year and was named president of the Indoor Track Club in her junior year.

Her academic excellence is reflected in her membership in multiple honor societies, including the National English Honor Society, National Art Honor Society, National Honor Society, Mu Alpha Theta, and the National German Honor Society.

Additionally, she has contributed to the homecoming committee and prom committee, showcasing her dedication to school spirit and event planning.

Anna’s commitment to her community is evident through her volunteer work as a Sunday school teacher and her involvement with the Love Center. She also works part-time as a cashier.

In her free time, she enjoys reading, running, and spending time with friends and family. After graduation, Anna plans to attend Penn State University to study art education, aspiring to become an art teacher.
