In six separate cases, four people pled guilty to a variety of misdemeanor offenses while two others saw charges against them withdrawn altogether.
Timothy Michael Shoeman, 23, of Altoona, pleaded guilty to a charge of open lewdness that stemmed from an incident on Masten Road in McIntyre Township on Nov. 14 when two rangers saw him not wearing any pants while he was there with a second man, who was clothed, according to court records filed by the state Department of Conservation and Natural Resources. The two men told the rangers they were there “to hike the Old Loggers Path” in the Loyalsock State Forest, court documents stated. Shoeman identified himself as a “naturist nudist,” the rangers said. Shoeman made arrangements to pay $514 in fines and court costs set by District Judge William Solomon. As part of the plea agreement, two other charges, indecent exposure and disorderly conduct, were withdrawn.
In another case, Joyleen McClements, 51, Williamsport, pled guilty before District Judge Aaron Biichle to a charge of possession of a controlled substance after the county’s Narcotics Enforcement Unit withdrew two felony counts of delivery of a controlled substance that stemmed from her alleged involvement in two sales of crack cocaine in the 600 block of Cherry Street in the city in mid-March 2023, according to an affidavit. McClements made arrangements to pay $1,151 in fines and court costs.
In another case, Chad Alan Wilson, 51, of 447 John Brady Drive, Muncy, pled guilty to submitting false information on a federal document when he attempted to purchase a handgun at R&J Welch Firearms LLC, 1462 John Brady Drive, Muncy, on Oct. 8, 2022, according to state police. As part of the plea agreement before District Judge Kirsten Gardner, a felony charge of illegal sale or transfer of a firearm was withdrawn. Wilson was ordered to pay $785 in fines and court costs.
In another case, Georganna Lynn Smith, 19, of Endicott, New York, made arrangements to pay $314 in fines and court costs after she pled guilty before District Judge Denise Dieter to a state police charge of possession of a controlled substance (marijuana) that stems from an incident on Route 220 in Woodward Township on Sept. 21, according to court records. As part of the plea deal, police dropped a charge of possession of drug paraphernalia.
In another case, city police withdrew a charge of simple assault against Shahad Lee Harris, 32, of 412 Third Ave., after the alleged victim failed to appear for Harris’ preliminary hearing at the office of District Judge Christian Frey. The charge stemmed from Harris allegedly throwing bleach in a woman’s face in the 400 block of Allen Street on Dec. 9, according to court records.
In another case, Lycoming Regional Police dropped a misdemeanor charge of accidents involving damage to attended vehicle (hit-run) plus two summary violations against Nyre Mobley, 20, of 124 Brandon Place, apartment 21, according to court records at Solomon’s office. The charges stemmed from an incident when his vehicle and a motorcycle collided in the 1900 block of Lycoming Creek Road in Old Lycoming Township on Aug. 21.
Concerning yet another criminal matter, Shaheed T. Gindraw, 35, of 1732 Randall Circle, will face further court action on two sets of state police charges stemming from separate domestic disturbances with his ex-girlfriend that occurred just hours apart at their Loyalsock Township home on Dec. 26, state police said. In one of the incidents, Gindraw allegedly pistol whipped the woman twice, police said. After hearing testimony, District Judge Gary Whiteman ruled in one case that sufficient evidence was presented to hold Gindraw on charges of simple assault, criminal trespassing and harassment. In the second case, the judge held Gindraw on charges of burglary, felony trespassing, defiant trespassing, criminal mischief, aggravated assault, simple assault, recklessly endangering and harassment. However, Whiteman threw out a second aggravated assault charge as well as one count each of terroristic threats and endangering the welfare of a child. Gindraw remains behind bars at the Lycoming County Prison in lieu of bail.
