MaryAnn Hoover

MaryAnn Hoover, 89, of Williamsport, passed on to her heavenly home on Wednesday, February 19, 2025, at her residence in the presence of her loving husband. Born October 15, 1935, in Williamsport, she was a daughter of Ralph H. Tietbohl and Ruth S. (Stiber) Tietbohl. MaryAnn and her husband, Robert P. “Bob” Hoover, shared a wonderful life and nearly seventy years of marriage together.

MaryAnn was a woman of boundless love, quiet strength, and unwavering devotion to her family. She embraced every role in her life with grace, whether as a loving wife, devoted mother, or cherished friend. She managed the home with care, balanced the business books with precision, and still found time to enjoy the great outdoors with her family. Skiing, swimming, boating, camping, and even casting a line into Loyalsock Creek for rock bass and sunfish with her children were among her favorite pastimes.

A gifted seamstress, MaryAnn created beautiful dresses for herself and clothes for her boys during their younger years, turning necessity into artistry with her skilled hands. Those who knew her best will always remember her radiant smile, gentle spirit, and compassionate heart. She had a way of making everyone feel valued, always looking for ways to lend a helping hand. Despite her keen intellect, she carried herself with humility, never seeking attention but always leaving a lasting impression.

Above all, MaryAnn was a steadfast pillar of support for her husband, Bob–whether it meant standing by his side as he pursued new business ventures or embracing his dreams, even when they meant leaving behind a home she adored. Her greatest joys in life were her faith, her family, and the deep love she shared with Bob. She loved Jesus wholeheartedly and lived out that love in everything she did.

MaryAnn’s legacy is one of kindness, devotion, and an unshakable love for those she held dear. She will be deeply missed but forever cherished in the hearts of all who knew her.

MaryAnn is survived by her husband Robert P. Hoover; sons, R. Stephen (Leslie) Hoover, of Vestal, NY, Craig E.
