Theft, drugs among charges lodged in district courts

Tioga County man faces invasion of privacy charge

While a woman was trying on an outfit in the privacy of a dressing room at Target in Muncy Township on Nov. 22, Christopher Antonio Lingle-Carrasco was just outside recording video of the woman with his cell phone, holding it at an opening underneath the door, township police alleged in an affidavit. “There is more than sufficient space under each of the doors (to the dressing rooms) in order for someone to record an occupant with a cell phone,” Sgt. James Taylor wrote in the lengthy document.

“When the woman turned around to put her pants back on, she saw a cell phone being held underneath the dressing room door. She threw open the door and saw a man with the cell phone running out of the dressing rooms,” Taylor said. The woman called out to her boyfriend, who was standing by, and told him to chase after the man, Taylor said. The boyfriend caught up with the man, demanded he show him his phone and then ordered the man to delete any and all videos taken of his girlfriend, the officer added. After the videos were deleted, the boyfriend told the man to get out of the store, police said.

Through an extensive investigation, Taylor determined the man who allegedly took the videos was Lingle-Carrasco, a 23-year-old resident of the Tioga County borough of Knoxville, who also goes by Christopher Lingle. For the purpose of sexual gratification, Lingle-Carrasco used his cell phone to record a woman “partially undress” without her knowledge or consent, Taylor alleged in the court document. Investigators also allege that Lingle-Carrasco stalked a 22-year-old woman and two girls, ages 9 and 16, who were shopping together in the store in mid-April 2022. Following his recent arraignment before District Judge Kirsten Gardner on charges of invasion of privacy and stalking, Lingle-Carrasco was committed to the Lycoming County Prison in lieu of $50,000 bail. He was held for court on all charges following his preliminary hearing last week.

One jailed after felony theft charge

Keith Dempsey Getz, 36, of 119 W. Central Ave., South Williamsport, has been locked up on felony charges of theft and receiving stolen property for taking Lorie Parker’s 2001 Ford Mustang from outside her home in the 1300 block of Baldwin Street on Jan. 13, city police alleged in court papers. Parker gave Getz permission to take the car on Jan. 12 just for the day, which he did, police said. Although he returned the vehicle hours later, he took it again sometime overnight without Parker’s consent, police alleged. Getz has since waived his preliminary hearing and remains incarcerated in lieu of $25,000 bail that was ordered by District Judge William Solomon at Getz’s arraignment on Jan. 14.

Huntingdon County man arrested on misdemeanor charges

It was just before midnight on Nov. 2 when a Lycoming Regional police officer stopped a 2012 Audi A4 driven by Huntingdon County resident Tyrell Ahkeem Cooper on Route 220 in Piatt Township because there was a problem with the temporary tag on the back of the car, according to an affidavit. It turned out the temporary license plate was “fraudulent” and Cooper, 37, of Alexandria, admitted he had been using temporary tags ever since he purchased the vehicle back in 2019, the affidavit stated. After telling the officer there was a firearm in the car, Cooper was asked to step outside of the car, which he did. Police discovered a loaded handgun registered in Cooper’s name on the backseat, the affidavit said. He did not have a permit for the gun, police alleged. Following his arraignment last week before District Judge Denise Dieter on misdemeanor charges of carrying a firearm without a license, possession of an altered or forged document plus four summary violations, Cooper was released on $25,000 bail.
