Dean and Joy Barto, of Hughesville, will celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary on December 29, 2024. They were married in 1974 at St. Andrew Lutheran Church, Muncy, by Rev. Philip Lambdin.

Joy, formerly of Muncy, is the daughter of the late Van and Audrey Wertman. Retired in 2012 from East Lycoming School District as a music teacher, she continues to be choir director/organist at St. Andrew. Dean, a native of Hughesville, is the son of the late Clayton and Margaret Barto. He retired last December from Young Industries, Muncy

They are the proud parents of Matthew (Lori) Barto, Dallastown, and Kimberly (Oliver) Crisp, Mechanicsburg. They have also been blessed with 4 grandchildren and 2 step-granddaughters. A family beach vacation is being planned for next summer.
