According to a news release, the Billtown All-Stars will conclude their 10th fundraising season with a live music concert at the Genetti Hotel Terrace Garden Ballroom, 200 West Fourth St., from 6 p.m. to 11:30 p.m. on Dec. 27. Profits from the show will benefit the American Cancer Society and the family of Chris Silvagni — an original member of the Billtown All-Stars — who recently passed away from cancer.
The evening will feature five musical acts from California to Pennsylvania performing live, and limited-edition merchandise will be on sale throughout the evening to help raise money and awareness for a cure for cancer. The event, open to all ages, will include live music sets from Los Angeles-based teen vocalist Naomi Yasui, acoustic folk artist Alan Foust, world music quartet Celtic Wood & Wires, hard rockers Outrage, and local non-profit classic rock group The Billtown All-Stars.
The Billtown All-Stars were formed in 2015 by Williamsport-born and Los Angeles-based professional musician Tim Yasui to raise money towards a cure for Alzheimer’s disease, which took the life of his mother that same year. A decade later, the group has performed live concerts from Pennsylvania to California, raising thousands of dollars on the way towards cures for not only Alzheimer’s disease, but also for Parkinson’s disease, cancer, diabetes and Lewy body dementia. The group has also raised funds for The United Way, local law enforcement and Pennsylvania veteran’s groups.
