Every time we think Republicans in Congress cannot waste more time or act more foolishly, they prove us wrong. Case in point – their efforts to impeach President Joe Biden. For what?

As the Associated Press reports, “…no evidence has emerged that Biden acted corruptly or accepted bribes…,” either as President or previously as Vice-president. Yet the Republican Speaker of the House says “…the evidentiary record is impossible to ignore…” What evidentiary record, Mr. Speaker?

The impeachment effort is based on Republicans’ slavish devotion to the creature who actually heads their party – Donald Trump. According to the AP “…Trump has pushed his GOP allies in Congress to move swiftly on impeaching Biden, part of his broader calls for vengeance and retribution…”

Important issues face our country and the world at large. House Republicans ignore them and take no action. Trump hasn’t told us his plans for the economy, foreign affairs, health care, or anything else, and instead of trying to bring the country together, he’s only focused on punishing his political opponents.

At every level the Republican Party has shown no interest in America, no interest in America’s future, no interest in improving Americans’ lives. It is only interested in politics and political power.
