Jersey Shore High School May Students of the Month

Jersey Shore High School selects two seniors to honor as Students of the Month each month of the academic year. For the month of May, Kayla Rose Mundrick, Jersey Shore Lions’ Club Citizen of the Month, and Savannah Morgan Brion, the Business and Professional Women’s Club Girl of the Month, have been chosen to be honored.

Kayla Rose Mundrick, the daughter of Vanessa and Rob Mundrick, of Jersey Shore, has served as the class president during her freshman year, secretary of her class during her sophomore year and vice-president of the class during her junior year. She is currently serving as the class president and was the captain of the varsity tennis team. She is involved in chorus, basketball, soccer, Key club, the Red Cross club and student council. She is also a member of the National Honor Society and the National Spanish Honor Society. She also participates in the Future Business Leaders of America. Kayla has been nominated for homecoming court during her freshman and senior years; placed second in FBLA during her sophomore year and gets to do the morning announcements for the high school. She has been a consistent honor roll student. Outside of the classroom, Kayla has volunteered her time at the Lycoming County SPCA and has helped pack boxes at the New Love Center. She is currently working on a farm. She enjoys riding horses, playing her ukulele, singing, fishing and taking care of animals. She also enjoys hanging out with friends. On the weekends, she enjoys going to horse shows. She will be competing this year for the Queen Tiadaghton Pageant. In the future, she hopes to further her knowledge in animal health.

Savannah Morgan Brion, the daughter of Brandie and Westley Brion, of Jersey Shore, is involved in various clubs and sports. She has been a team player in basketball, soccer, golf and tennis. She is serving as the secretary of the pep club, the vice-president of Key club and is the senior editor for the yearbook. She has served as the class of 2022 treasurer during her sophomore and junior years. She is also a member of Constitutional Convention, Senior Leadership Committee, National Honor Society, National Spanish Honor Society, National English Honor Society and FBLA. She was nominated for homecoming court during her senior year of high school, placed first for FBLA Regionals in 2020, placed second in FBLA Regionals in 2021 and took first at the Lycoming County Fair Art Gallery. She is a consistent distinguished honor roll student. She volunteers her time in the Life Skills gym class. She is a member of the Antes Fort Planning Committee. Savannah also works as a shift manager at Phil-It-Up Drive-In and is a caregiver for an adult with special needs. In the future, she plants to attend Penn State University for either special education or biology. She also enjoys traveling and spending time with her friends and family.
