Lyco men’s tennis picked tenth in Landmark preseason poll

The Lycoming College men’s tennis team enter the 2025 season ranked 10th in the Landmark Conference men’s tennis preseason poll, the conference office announced on Wednesday.

Goucher College, which claimed its sixth Landmark Conference Men’s Tennis Championship title in the 2024 season after defeating Drew University with a 5-2 final score, earned the top spot in the 2025 men’s tennis preseason poll with 78 points. Drew secured the second-seed spot in the preseason poll with 76 points. Moravian (63), Catholic (54) and Juniata (47) rounded out the top five spots. Wilkes placed sixth with 38 points and was followed by Susquehanna (36), Scranton (32), Elizabethtown (17) and Lycoming (9).

Lycoming earned the tenth slot in the preseason poll after finishing the 2024 season with a 3-13 overall record.

Junior Josh Neidert moved to the top of the Warriors’ lineup on a team that is veteran-laden with four seniors — Mohamed Ebeid, Matthew Baldridge, Brian Hulsey and Luke Taylor. First-year Kayvan Shams – a South Williamsport graduate – led the team in wins this fall with a 6-2 record out of the No. 4 and No. 5 singles slots.

The Warriors open the spring portion of its schedule when they travel to Houghton College on Thursday, March 20, for non-conference action at 4 p.m.
