AIDS Resource receives grant to advance health equity in region
AIDS Resource Alliance Inc. was recently selected as a second-year grant awardee of the AstraZeneca Foundation’s Creating Health Access for Next Generation Equity (CHANGE) program, which aims to advance health equity and improve access to quality healthcare for people experiencing disadvantages due to their race, ethnicity, socioeconomic status and more, according to a recent press release.
This funding will provide critical support to the organization’s primary care clinic, AR Health, the release said.
AR Health aims to reduce health disparities and improve health outcomes by providing high-quality primary care services in a welcoming environment to individuals living with HIV and members of the LGBTQIA2S+ community residing in northcentral Pennsylvania, with the ultimate goal of building a healthier and more equitable community.
“We’re grateful to the AstraZeneca Foundation for this second-year CHANGE grant and its commitment to helping us increase access to quality healthcare in our community,” Kirsten Burkhart, executive director, said via the press release. “As we partner to advance health equity, this support will play a pivotal role in narrowing disparities and elevating healthcare outcomes in these underserved populations.”
